From the Director to the Receptionist, the Foot Mechanix Podiatry team have a wealth of knowledge and experience and are here to welcome you to the clinic and to put your mind at ease.

 

Karen Knightly - Podiatrist

Karen Knightly

Karen graduated from Plymouth School of Podiatry in 1993. In June 1994 she moved into private practice in London and Surrey in order to concentrate on specialist areas of biomechanics, gait analysis and sports podiatry.

In 1995 she established a specialist sports podiatry clinic in Auckland, New Zealand, treating professional and recreational athletes. Karen then returned to the UK in 1999 and, soon after, established Foot Mechanix Podiatry Clinic.

Karen is very interested in every sporting activity and has a specialist interest in running injuries and postural problems. She successfully treats sportsmen and women from recreational to professional athletes including runners, footballers, rugby players, tennis players, golfers, athletes and members of the British Army.


James Fajo-Misa - Podiatrist

James Fajo-Misa

Podiatrist BSc [Pod], MChS, HCPC Reg

James studied at the University of Southampton, graduating with a BSc in Podiatry in 2008. Since then, James has worked both within the private sector and the NHS, specialising in diabetic foot care.

As well as being an experienced Podiatrist in routine foot care, James is also proficient in nail surgery, conducting all our nail surgery procedures at Foot Mechanix.

James is a member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and also a Member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.


Mike Stephenson - Podiatrist

Mike Stephenson

Podiatrist BSc [Pod], MChS, HCPC Reg

Mike studied at Brighton University where he graduated with a first class honours in Podiatry. Since his graduation Mike has gained experience within the NHS and private sector in all areas of Podiatry, but has a keen interest in biomechanics and sports injury. As well as being a proficient Podiatrist in routine foot care, Mike is also experienced in ESWT (Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy) and prescribing orthotics.

Mike is a keen sportsman and is an ex semi-professional footballer as well as a national standard tennis player. He quotes, “After an extensive injury list during my sports career, I am very aware of the effect injury can have on a person physically and mentally. I hope with my medical training and experience, I can help many people return to activity and educate them on injury prevention”.

Mike is a member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.
